~ SUGGESTED CARE FOR YOUR POOL ~
SWIMMING POOL MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
*These instructions are suggested as a basis for white plaster pools using chlorine for sanitation.  Pools
utilizing a chlorine salt system or other sanitizer & pools with finishes other then white plaster require
different types of chemicals and maintenance.  Each individual pool has it's own requirements and it is
up to the owner to make this determination.
Write the date at the top of each column and check off each item as it is completed.
Tasks to be done weekly:
or as needed
Brushing
*Test chemicals*
**Add chemicals**
***Add algaecide ***
Empty skimmers
Empty pump baskets
Empty sweep bag
* In case of a heavy rain or heavy bather use, water chemistry must be checked again.
Often the PH level and chlorine level will be off.
**Chemicals are to be added according to the chemical readings.  Refer to the manual in the chemical testing kit.
*** We are recommending that algaecide be added weekly during the hot and wet months to
      prevent the formation of algae.
Filter must be backwashed when pressure goes over 25 lbs (or 5 lbs above normal filter pressure).  Normally this is
completed monthly, however, each pool is different.  Please refer to owners manual.
Tasks to be done monthly:
or as needed

Backwash filter
Add D.E.
Clean tile
Vacuum
We recommend twice yearly (Spring/Fall) full filter break down and cleaning.  Any damaged grids must be replaced.
Refer to Owners Manual.
After filter breakdown, Metal Out and D.E. needs to be added at the skimmer.

Clean filter
Add Metal Out
